GP service in the time of coronavirus

Here at Acorn Practice we are doing our best to look after our patients and meet their needs in these exceptional times. As with so many other businesses and organisations across the country, we have had to change the way we work, limiting face to face contact and practicing physical distancing to limit the possibilities of passing on infection.

While there is so much attention in the media about the coronavirus, we have not forgotten that other things that patients need to see their GP about are still occurring.

So while we do have the doors closed and are keeping patients out of the building wherever possible, I would like to stress that our GPs are still here for you. If you are worried about symptoms you may have, please call us and you will be given an appointment as before, the difference being that this will initially be a phone consultation. We have the option to also do video calls with patients who have smartphones, but if the GP feels you need to be seen in person, they will arrange an appointment with you. This will either be here at May Lane or, if you also have symptoms of coronavirus and are able to get there, at the new ‘Hub’ in Stroud that has been set up specifically for this purpose.
